If you sell 1:1 coaching packages alongside a few PDFs or templates, the checkout experience matters more than it seems. A client who wants to book a strategy call and grab your pricing template shouldn't have to run two separate transactions, enter their card twice, and wonder if the second one actually went through.
Here's what we can confirm from Podia's current pricing page, and where we hit a wall trying to check the same for Kajabi.
Podia: coaching and downloads live under one roof
Podia's plan pages list Community, Online courses, Digital downloads, Coaching, and Events as features included on every plan, starting at the entry-level Mover tier. That matters for a mixed cart because it means both product types (a booked coaching session and a digital download) are native to the same storefront and the same built-in checkout, rather than one being a bolt-on integration you'd have to stitch together separately.
Podia's page doesn't spell out a line-by-line mechanic for "customer buys a coaching slot and a PDF in the same cart," so we're not going to claim a specific cart flow we didn't see documented. What we can say is that both product types sit inside the same account and the same checkout system, which is the baseline requirement for a single-transaction purchase to even be possible.
What the Mover plan actually costs you per sale
Podia's cheapest paid tier, Mover, runs $42/month billed annually ($504/year). On that plan, Podia charges a 5% transaction fee on top of whatever Stripe or PayPal charges you as the payment processor (2.9% + 30 cents, per Podia's FAQ, though that can vary by location).
So on a mixed cart, say a $150 coaching call plus a $27 template, totaling $177, you'd be looking at roughly:
- Podia's 5% fee: about $8.85
- Processor fee (2.9% + $0.30): about $5.43
- Combined: around $14.28, or just over 8% of the sale
Move up to Shaker ($84/month billed annually, $1,008/year) or Earthquaker ($150/month billed annually, $1,800/year), and Podia's own transaction fee drops to zero. You'd still pay the standard Stripe or PayPal processing fee, but Podia stops taking its own cut. For a consultant doing enough coaching volume, that's a real number to run: at $8.85 saved per $177 sale, it doesn't take many bookings a month to make up the $42 difference between Mover and Shaker.
Where Kajabi comparison stands
We went to pull the same numbers for Kajabi so you could see them side by side, and the fetch of Kajabi's pricing page didn't return usable content this time. That means we can't tell you Kajabi's current entry-level price, whether it charges its own transaction fee on top of processor fees, or how its checkout handles a coaching booking bundled with a digital product purchase. Rather than guess at numbers that might be stale or wrong, we're leaving that comparison out until we can fetch the page properly.
If Kajabi's checkout flow and fee structure are the deciding factor for you, check kajabi.com/pricing directly before you commit. We'll revisit this once we have real numbers to put next to Podia's.
The practical takeaway
For a solo consultant mixing coaching calls with digital downloads, Podia's Mover plan gets you a working combined checkout for $42/month plus a 5% cut of each sale. If your average mixed-cart order is small, that 5% might cost you less in dollar terms than jumping to Shaker. But once your coaching bookings pick up volume, run the math: the $42/month gap between Mover and Shaker often pays for itself fast once you're clearing a handful of $150+ sessions a month.
